HLTA or TA qualification
(desirable, but not essential with strong experience)
A strong
understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
The ability to
build positive, trusting relationships
with children and young people
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A
calm, patient and resilient attitude
GCSEs in English and Maths
A clear understanding of
safeguarding and child protection
The role
Higher Level Teaching Assistant
As a
Higher-Level Teaching Assistant , youll work independently and alongside teachers to
plan, deliver and adapt learning
to meet the needs of pupils with SEND.
You will:
Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups
Deliver adapted learning activities and targeted interventions
Provide short-term classroom cover when required
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Use ICT to support learning and engagement
Contribute to assessments, progress tracking and reports
Act as a
key worker for a named child , providing consistency and support
