Job Title: High Voltage Estimator
Location: London (2 days/week in office) with UK-wide site travel
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 + Car Allowance + Pension + Private Healthcare
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 40 hours/week (Monday – Friday)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced High Voltage Estimator to join our UK-based estimating team, reporting into a wider international team based in Spain. This is an exciting permanent opportunity for a technically strong individual with experience in high voltage and substation infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will take full ownership of the estimating process, contributing directly to tender submissions and contractor sourcing. With clear room for progression, this role suits someone looking to grow within a dynamic and supportive business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate and competitive tenders for high voltage (HV) infrastructure projects, including substations and underground/overhead cabling.
* Collaborate remotely with colleagues in Spain to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing across the wider estimating team.
* Conduct UK-wide site visits to assess conditions, scope requirements, and validate project assumptions.
* Source and liaise with specialist contractors for pricing of specific work packages.
* Interpret project documentation and specifications to provide comprehensive and compliant estimates.
* Participate in internal reviews to ensure clarity, accuracy, and risk assessment within each tender submission.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates, materials, labour costs, and industry practices.
Experience & Skills Required:
* Demonstrable experience estimating for high voltage (HV) projects, including: Substation cabling (overhead and underground) and street works
* Solid understanding of various tendering processes (e.g. open, negotiated, framework)
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and scope documents
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Comfortable working independently and liaising with remote teams
