Location: Airport Airside (Security Restricted Area) Contract Type: Temp to Perm Shift Pattern: 4 on / 2 off Shift Length: 8.5 hours per shift Shift Types: Mixture of earlies and lates
Pay & Overtime
Monday to Friday: Basic Pay Rate 1.5
Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays: Basic Pay Rate 2
Role Overview
We are recruiting Airside Drivers to work within a secure airport environment. The role involves operating a variety of vehicles airside, ensuring strict adherence to aviation safety, security regulations, and operational procedures. This is a fast-paced, safety-critical role requiring reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Minimum Licence & Experience Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
HGV Class 2 / Category C licence - Experience driving vehicles over 18 tonnes , OR
Bus / Coach Driver - Minimum 2 years experience , ideally including double-deck vehicles , OR
7.5 Tonne Driver - Minimum 2 years experience
Desirable Experience
Previous airside driving experience , particularly on vehicles over 18 tonnes
Experience working in regulated or high-security environments
Skills & Personal Attributes
Good level of physical fitness essential
Ability to understand and follow instructions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High sense of ownership and responsibility
Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines
Strong commitment to Health & Safety compliance at all times
Security & Compliance Requirements
Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be able to provide:
HMRC 5-year employment history (official PAYE/employment record)
Full 5-year address history
Right to Work in the UK
DBS check
Satisfactory references covering any employment gaps
HMRC employment history must clearly show all employment and any gaps over the last 5 years. This is a mandatory requirement for airside pass approval.
