Job Title: HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver PositionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV Class 1 Tramper to ensure the safe and timely transportation of goods across the UK. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits.This role involves operating and manoeuvring an HGV Class 1 vehicle in compliance with regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of UK road regulations and driving laws, as well as strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.The successful candidate will be required to transport goods and materials between specified locations, adhering to delivery schedules and deadlines. They will also be responsible for conducting pre-use and post-use inspections of the vehicle and/or trailer to ensure roadworthiness, and maintaining accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and hours worked in compliance with legal and company requirements.This role requires a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with clients and members of the public. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and self-motivation.The key responsibilities of this role include:Safely operating and manoeuvring an HGV Class 1 vehicle in compliance with regulations and company policies.Transporting goods and materials between specified locations, adhering to delivery schedules and deadlines.Conducting pre-use and post-use inspections of the vehicle and/or trailer to ensure roadworthiness.Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and hours worked in compliance with legal and company requirements.Adhering to all relevant health and safety guidelines to ensure the safety of yourself and others.Communicating effectively with management, dispatchers, customers, and colleagues to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues.Utilizing navigation systems and maps to plan efficient routes and minimize fuel consumption.Adhering to driving regulations regarding rest periods and maximum driving hours, prioritizing safety and compliance.Maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with clients and members of the public.Fulfilling varying shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.A Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).A Digital Tachograph Card.At least one year's experience as an HGV Class 1 driver.An excellent driving record with no more than 6 points on your licence.Strong knowledge of UK road regulations and driving laws.The ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and self-motivation.Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.Physical fitness to handle the demands of long-haul driving, including lifting and moving heavy loads.Willingness to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required by the business.
