HGV Class 1 Driver – Raunds, Northamptonshire

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Raunds, Northamptonshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for long-term progression, including temp-to-perm.

Shifts

  •  Days – Monday – Friday

All potential candidates should read through the following details of this job with care before making an application.
    – Start times between 04:00–07:00 or 12:00–16:00
  •  Nights – Monday – Friday
    – Start times between 17:00–21:00

Rates of Pay

Days

  •  £16.75 per hour (basic)
  •  £22.28 per hour (overtime after 9 hours)

Nights

  •  £17.75 per hour (basic)
  •  £23.61 per hour (overtime after 9 hours)

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  •  Depot-to-depot trunking routes and trailer swaps
  •  Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  •  Ensuring all loads are secured safely and correctly
  •  Adhering to traffic laws, company procedures, and delivery schedules

Essential Skills

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

  •  Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence
  •  Minimum of 2 years' Class 1 (C+E) driving experience
  •  No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
  •  Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
  •  Good spoken and written English

Desirable Experience

  •  Previous commercial driving experience

Training Provided

  •  Driver assessment required prior to start
  •  Industry-related training and ongoing support
