HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER – WILLENHALL, WEST MIDLANDS

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver – Willenhall, West Midlands to join our well-established client based in Willenhall, West Midlands. This role would suit candidates who have experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Driver, or Class 1 Delivery Driver. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-known supplier of household goods, offering plenty of ongoing work and long-term opportunities.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday
 • Start times between 03:00 – 06:00 (days) and 12:00 – 16:00 (afternoons)
 • Some weekend availability required

Rates of Pay

 • £18.00 per hour (Days)
 • £19.39 per hour(Nights)

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

 • Operating and driving Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
 • Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
 • Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly
 • Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
 • Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
 • Maintaining accurate records of shipments, mileage and fuel consumption
 • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
 • Assisting with loading and unloading of goods as required
 • Completing between 8 to 10 store deliveries using rolled cages

Essential Skills

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

 • Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence
 • Minimum of 12 months' experience driving C+E vehicles
 • Valid UK Driver CPC card and Digital Tachograph card
 • No more than six penalty points and no major endorsement codes
 • Good level of spoken and written English
 • Experience operating various trailer types
 • Punctual with excellent time-keeping
 • Effective communication skills
 • Flexible and available to work overtime when required
 • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Desirable Experience

 • Previous experience driving commercial vehicles

Training Provided

 • Industry-related training and ongoing support provided
