Health & Safety Coordinator – Food Manufacturing West London | £38,000 – £42,000 + benefits
Full-time | On-site | Food Manufacturing Environment
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator with proven food manufacturing experience to take ownership of site-wide H&S standards within a fast-paced production environment. This is a hands-on, factory-based role and is not suitable for candidates without manufacturing or food production experience.
You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, maintaining audit readiness and embedding a strong food safety and health & safety culture across the site.
This role is ideal for someone who:
Has current or recent experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG production environment
Is comfortable being visible on the factory floor
Has practical experience managing H&S systems, audits and day-to-day compliance
Enjoys a varied role covering training, inspections, investigations and continuous improvement Key Responsibilities
Day-to-day coordination of Health & Safety within a food manufacturing site
Maintain and support ISO 45001 compliance and associated documentation
Ensure all statutory inspections, servicing and safety checks are completed, including:
FLT & pallet trucks
Compactors & balers
Ovens, lifts/hoists & LEV
Fire suppression systems, alarms & CCTV
Boilers, refrigeration & chilling systems
Deliver H&S training including:
Site inductions
COSHH
PPE
E-learning modules
Oversee Legionella management (checks, flushing, sampling and records)
Support and review risk assessments and control measures
Conduct regular audits across:
Housekeeping
Waste management
General site and food safety compliance
Support accident and incident investigations, including RIDDOR reporting
Manage contractors and permit-to-work processes, including hot works
Keep up to date with HSE legislation, food safety requirements and best practice Essential Experience & Qualifications
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) – essential
Proven H&S experience within food manufacturing or FMCG – essential
Experience working in a regulated, audit-driven manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of factory-based risk assessments and controls
Confident communicator, able to influence and challenge unsafe behaviours
Able to prioritise workload and manage within a defined budget Desirable (but not essential)
First Aid, Fire Marshal, IPAF and Food Safety certifications
Experience supporting external audits and inspections Why Join?
