Penguin Recruitment is proud to partner with a specialist Building Services and Design Consultancy that is seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Sustainability to join its expanding Manchester team.

The Role

This is a senior leadership position offering the opportunity to shape and grow the sustainability service while playing a key role in client delivery and business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing clients
  • Support the growth of new services and contribute to client marketing initiatives
  • Lead all aspects of project delivery across the sustainability service offering
  • Procure, manage, and coordinate specialist external sub-consultants

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or another built environment discipline
  • Proven experience within sustainability consultancy in the built environment
  • Strong project leadership skills with the ability to represent the business positively within multidisciplinary design teams
  • Demonstrated client-facing experience across multiple project stages
  • Sound understanding of financial and resource management
  • Knowledge of dynamic simulation software, mechanical design principles, sustainability rating systems, planning requirements, operational energy assessments, and life cycle assessments (highly desirable)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including high-quality report writing
