Head of Ruminant Based UK or Ireland Our client is a pioneering animal nutrition specialist with a global presence, working in partnership with customers to provide cutting edge science and technology solutions. On their behalf, Narratology is recruiting for a Head of Ruminant to further develop key partnerships and strategic accounts on a national stage. The Head of Ruminant is a newly created appointment, accountable for leading the commercial workstream in innovation projects for new solutions and services with responsibility for target product profiles, go-to-market strategies, regional onboarding, engagement and business cases. Leading a specialist team and collaborating effectively with regional colleagues, the Head of Ruminant will define and co-ordinate the execution of ruminant strategy, providing expert technical support to key customers and other industry stakeholders on new product and services. This is a commercial appointment with a business growth focus and the role holder will contribute to fees and grants allocation as well as building a strong relationships with a network of ruminant experts, ensuring they are trained on new solutions or services. Applicants will possess the following skills and experience: Degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Science, or a related field. Significant experience in technical sales leadership, key account management, or business development focused on dairy, beef, or sheep sectors. In-depth knowledge of ruminant digestive physiology, forage and feed evaluation, nutritional requirements for different stages (growth, reproduction, lactation, finishing), and feed additive technologies (e.g., buffers, yeasts, enzymes, rumen-protected nutrients). Proficiency with ration formulation programs and interpreting farm performance metrics and an understanding of the regulatory frameworks relevant to ruminant feeds. A strong track record in building trust and long-term partnerships with farmers, nutritionists, veterinarians, and cooperative or feed company stakeholders. Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of tailoring technical information to different audiences. Passionate about the ruminant industry and committed to advancing animal health, welfare, and producer profitability. UK or Ireland-based with willingness to travel extensively across UK, Ireland and occasionally Europe / ROW (20% travel).
