Head of Networks
We’re looking for a Head of Networks to take full ownership of our distribution network operations. Leading performance, driving investment and ensuring customers receive a resilient, high‑quality water supply. This high‑impact leadership role has accountability for operational delivery, customer outcomes, regulatory performance and multi‑million‑pound investment programmes.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the end‑to‑end operation of the water distribution network, including maintenance, repair and renewal.
- Owning performance across key areas including leakage, water quality, supply interruptions and customer outcomes.
- Managing a large, multi‑disciplinary team through senior leaders, creating a high‑performance, safety‑first culture.
- Overseeing the 24/7 control room and incident response capability.
- Driving delivery of a multi‑million‑pound capital programme, including network upgrades and improvements.
- Managing key supply chain partners to ensure performance, value and quality.
- Taking full accountability for departmental budgets (totex) and financial performance.
- Leading regulatory reporting, business planning and performance commitments delivery.
- Acting as a senior leader within the business, influencing strategy and representing the company with stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
- Significant senior leadership experience within utilities, infrastructure or operational environments.
- A strong track record of leading field‑based, multi‑disciplinary teams at scale.
- Experience delivering capital programmes and managing supply chain partners.
- Commercially astute with the ability to manage large budgets and drive efficiency.
- Deep understanding of health, safety and environmental leadership.
- A customer‑focused mindset with experience improving operational and service performance.
- Confident, credible leader with the ability to influence at executive and stakeholder levels.
(Degree qualified in a relevant discipline; chartership desirable.)

SES Water supplies 160 million litres of clean water every day to over 750,000 people in parts of Surrey, Kent and south London.
Our supply area is 322 square miles extending from Morden and South Croydon in the north to Gatwick Airport in the south and from Cobham, Leatherhead and Dorking in the west to Edenbridge in the east.
