Role Overview
As Head of IT Standardisation & Change, you will lead the strategic modernisation of Steer Automotive Group's technology landscape. You will drive large-scale IT standardisation, systems integration and business-wide change, ensuring our technology enables operational excellence, scalable growth and an outstanding experience for customers and colleagues.
Acting as a bridge between IT and the wider business, you will embed change in a way that reflects Steer's core values of Excellence, Innovation and Integrity.
The role offers hybrid working, with 1-2 days per week based at our Wimbledon office.
Key Responsibilities
IT Standardisation & Strategy
- Partner with the Head of IT to define and deliver a multi-year IT standardisation roadmap aligned to business growth.
- Lead the transition from legacy systems to modern, secure, scalable cloud-based platforms.
- Drive system integration and standardisation across multiple sites and acquisitions.
- Ensure technology enables efficiency across operational, commercial and support functions, including bodyshops, call centres, supply chain, finance and HR.
Change Leadership & Delivery
- Own and embed a structured change management approach for all IT-led programmes.
- Ensure successful adoption of new systems through effective rollout, communication, training and engagement.
- Work closely with operational leaders to minimise disruption and maximise benefits realisation.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.
Stakeholder & Business Engagement
- Build strong partnerships with Executive, Operational and Functional Leaders.
- Translate business needs into effective, practical technology solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on transformation risks and opportunities.
- Manage third-party vendors, system integrators and technology partners.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure all transformation initiatives meet data protection, cyber security and regulatory requirements.
- Establish robust governance, reporting and KPIs for IT transformation programmes.
- Manage budgets, investment cases and ROI for technology initiatives.
Leadership & Capability Building
- Work alongside the wider IT team to help build a high-performing transformation and change capability.
- Promote collaboration, accountability and professional development.
