Head of Finance / Finance Director | FMCG - Food & Beverage Subscription Business | King's Cross Harmonic is partnering with a high-growth UK food and beverage start‑up to hire a Head of Finance or Finance Director to support the CEO as the business scales. This role will play a central part in shaping financial strategy, leading finance and commercial functions, and driving sustainable growth. Working closely with the Head of Supply Chain, this position will ensure that financial planning and reporting are fully aligned with operational performance. We are looking for someone with experience in e-commerce/direct-to-consumer businesses; experience in retail and subscription models would be a strong advantage. Key Responsibilities
Shape and implement the company’s financial roadmap in line with growth objectives Provide analysis, forecasting, and commercial insight to guide decision‑making Evaluate market positioning and identify opportunities for expansion
Finance Operations
Take ownership of budgeting cycles, forecasting processes, and financial reporting Embed supply chain data into financial planning to enhance margin and cash flow Oversee compliance and coordinate outsourced finance functions (including AP/AR, payroll, and month‑end close) Ensure accurate reporting, year‑end completion, and R&D tax submissions Manage liquidity and cash flow through effective treasury practices Lead the finance function and manage external providers Improve processes and ensure resources are aligned with company priorities Encourage cross‑functional collaboration and accountability at leadership level
Commercial Partnership
Work closely with Supply Chain to improve demand forecasting and supplier outcomes Develop financial models that reflect supply chain costs, payment terms, and working capital dynamics Proactively identify financial and operational risks and implement controls Maintain readiness for audits and regulatory requirements Experience in eCommerce; retail or subscription exposure beneficial. Proven senior finance leadership experience within a £40m revenue business. Track record of delivering financial strategy in high‑growth environments.
