RSPCA Assured is celebrating 31 years of improving the lives of farmed animals. We work with farmers and supermarkets to ensure animal welfare standards are met, and every year assess thousands of farms to maintain these standards.
Our vision is a world where all farmed animals are respected and treated with kindness and compassion. We are seeking a Head of Farming and Technical Engagement to lead our efforts in expanding the scheme, providing expert guidance, and supporting our members.
What a day might look like for you
You will play a pivotal role in shaping farm animal welfare, expanding the scheme, and working closely with industry stakeholders to promote higher welfare practices. You will also lead, develop, and mentor a team, ensuring objectives are met and careers are developed.
What you'll be doing
Developing welfare standards in collaboration with the Farm Animals Department.
Engaging members and stakeholders to implement higher welfare standards.
Supporting members through technical content and targeted support.
Identifying growth opportunities and bridging gaps between current practices and welfare goals.
Representing RSPCA at industry events and building relationships with stakeholders.
Leading a team and fostering their development.
What you'll bring
Extensive knowledge of animal welfare standards and farming practices.
Ability to develop innovative, scalable solutions.
Experience leading high-performing teams.
Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
Senior-level experience in farming or supply chain industry, with a focus on welfare standards.
Above all, a genuine dedication to improving farmed animal welfare, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
