As they continue to scale and mature ahead of future growth, they are now seeking a Head of Engineering to shape and lead their development function.This is a key leadership role where you'll guide engineering culture, influence delivery processes, and ensure the development organisation is set up for sustainable, long-term success.What will you do in the role?Engineering DeliveryOwn day-to-day delivery of all engineering work across web and mobile teamsAllocate development resources across projects and workstreamsEnsure developers are focused on a limited number of concurrent workstreamsWork with Product Managers to sequence and prioritise work effectivelyTeam LeadershipLine-manage engineers and support Team Leads in their technical leadership dutiesSet clear objectives, expectations and growth paths for all engineersPromote a positive, sustainable and high-performing engineering cultureLead and mentor a team of 9 engineersDevelopment Standards & QualityDefine and enforce coding standards and engineering best practicesEnsure robust and consistent code review processesPromote secure coding practicesPartner with QA to ensure product quality remains consistently highRelease & Delivery GovernanceOwn release governance and approval processesEnsure releases meet testing and quality requirementsWork with the Platform team to improve deployment processesMaintain a reliable, predictable release cadenceCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Product Managers on prioritisation and demand managementCollaborate with Platform & Architecture on technical initiativesProvide engineering input into planning, estimation and delivery commitmentsContinuous ImprovementIdentify inefficiencies in engineering processes and implement improvementsReduce technical debt through structured prioritisationDrive adoption of modern development practices, tools and methodologiesWhat skills / experience will you already have?Essential5+ years' experience in software development environmentsPrevious experience leading engineering teamsExperience delivering software in a SaaS or client-driven environmentExperience managing multiple concurrent workstreamsDegree in Computer Science or equivalent experienceStrong understanding of modern software development practicesExperience with .NET and web-based architecturesStrong organisational and prioritisation skillsStrong stakeholder management skillsAbility to challenge and influence non-technical stakeholdersExperience working with Agile or Kanban delivery modelsDesirableExperience scaling engineering teamsExperience in organisations preparing for acquisitionLeadership or management trainingPersonal QualitiesStrong leadership presenceCalm under pressurePragmatic and delivery-focusedContinuous improvement mindsetExcellent communication skillsIf you're looking for a senior leadership role where you can shape engineering culture, drive delivery excellence and influence the growth of a SaaS platform, please apply to find out more.Please note: Sponsorship is not available for this role.
