Head of Data - Asset Management
We are seeking an experienced Head of Data to join a global asset manager headquartered in London and lead the next phase of their data transformation journey. This is a strategic yet hands‑on leadership role, suited to someone who excels at the intersection of data operations, governance, architecture, and emerging AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with senior business stakeholders to ensure the data strategy fully supports and enables business objectives.
- Work alongside the Head of Development to shape data architecture, modernise data tooling, and drive best‑practice design.
- Define, implement, and continually mature robust data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Lead a high‑performing data operations function spanning governance, MDM, and BI.
- Collaborate with the client reporting team to develop and refine the firm’s enterprise reporting strategy.
- Oversee the data modelling function, ensuring consistent standards and scalable design.
- Define and execute an organisation‑wide AI enablement strategy, aligned tightly to business priorities.
- Champion responsible and effective AI adoption across the firm and oversee delivery of AI use cases.
Experience & Skills Required
- Strong experience within financial services, ideally in the buy‑side sector.
- Proven track record in defining and delivering enterprise data architecture strategies and roadmaps.
- Deep knowledge of data system architecture and modern data platform patterns (data marts, data fabric, data lakes, etc.).
- Cloud data management expertise – Azure experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of BI and data warehouse modelling principles and techniques.
- Solid grasp of AI concepts, tools, and emerging technologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing data teams.
