The Role
The Head of Compliance and Safer Gambling is responsible for ensuring that accurate risk assessment, mitigation planning, and first and second line monitoring regimes are designed with respect to general compliance and safer gambling, and are effectively applied in the conduct of company business in line with all regulatory obligations.
Main Duties
Horizon scanning and keeping up to date with all related regulatory and statutory requirements, codes of practice, formal guidance, as well as industry publications in regard to General Compliance and Safer Gambling such as Complaints, Employee Gifts and Hospitality and Licensing
Periodic risk assessment review, gap analysis and update of all policies, manuals and associated collateral in relation to General Compliance and Safer Gambling.
Overall responsibility for design and implementation of risk assessment, risk mitigation, monitoring and evaluation regime in respect of General Compliance and Safer Gambling.
Design and implementation of company strategy and approach to Safer Gambling.
Conducting board-level periodic evaluations on the company's approach to Safer Gambling.
Annually review the customer journey with a view to strategically identify opportunities to reduce the compliance footprint whilst maintaining compliance at all times.
Periodic Reporting to the Executive Compliance Team on regulatory landscape considerations, results of General Compliance and Safer Gambling monitoring, and recommendations for change as and when deemed necessary.
Liaising with the Business Intelligence Team to ensure the production of accurate and meaningful data for the purpose of monitoring and evaluation of implementation and effectiveness of compliance risk mitigation measures.
Management of Central Support Compliance Team and acting as a mentor to develop them in their roles.
Overseeing the collation of data and the submission of information to the Gambling Commission such as Regulatory Returns, Key Events and LCCP notifications.
Oversight of meticulous administrative record keeping & filing of all corporate governance (compliance) related matters.
Assist the Chief Assurance Officer as required to manage all external relationship with external regulators inter alia and significantly, the Gambling Commission.
Build and maintain relationships with external non-governmental organisations such as the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), SENSE and industry peers to identify and share best practice.
Attending relevant working groups established in association with the BGC.
Essential Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels as represent Metropolitan Gaming externally as and when required.
Logical and precise interpretation of written communications from external agencies, including but not limited to the Gambling Commission, Advertising Standards Authority and Local Authorities.
Effective risk management skills – planning, executing and monitoring risk management regimes.
Proactive, organised, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering outstanding service.
Knowledge of loyalty programme, event coordination, and guest experience management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and (preferable) with the NEON Casino Management System (CMS), or similar.
