Our client is seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Head of Business Development to drive growth, forge strategic partnerships, and shape go-to-market strategy in a competitive and fast-evolving industry.
This is a critical leadership role for a highly motivated individual who excels in fast-paced, agile environments. The Head of Business Development will be instrumental in building lasting relationships at C-Suite and Director level, expanding the commercial footprint, and developing cutting-edge value propositions in the logistics space.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a compelling commercial and partnership strategy to grow market share.
- Lead customer acquisition through targeted engagement with senior decision-makers across multiple sectors.
- Shape and enhance the go-to-market strategy, tracking ROI and market insights to inform decision-making.
- Drive development of digital freight products and services, positioning them effectively to new and existing clients.
- Manage the CRM pipeline, ensuring data integrity and opportunity conversion.
- Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and with key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with marketing to optimise digital lead generation and support strategic website enhancements.
- Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing team, providing clear direction and development opportunities.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience in senior logistics commercial roles, with a track record in business development and strategic partnerships.
- Proven ability to deliver growth in a sales-led or commercial environment.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly analytical and structured, with excellent reporting and presentation abilities.
- Confident managing CRM systems and using digital tools to track pipeline and performance.
- A visionary leader who can balance hands-on execution with long-term strategic thinking.
- Educated to degree level or possessing equivalent industry experience.
