About the Role Reporting directly to The Pilchard Manager, youll take full ownership of our food offering from designing exciting, seasonal menus to managing kitchen operations and budgets.
Youll lead a tight-knit brigade to deliver a lively daytime service and more refined evening options, ensuring consistency, creativity, and quality throughout.

Key Responsibilities Design and develop seasonal, creative menus for both lunch and dinner
Maintain high culinary standards in a busy, high-turnover kitchen
Oversee food and labour costs, including stock ordering and payroll
Lead and mentor a small team in a positive, supportive kitchen culture
Collaborate with front-of-house for smooth and successful service
Uphold the highest standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
What Were Looking For Proven experience as a Head Chef, or a strong Sous Chef ready to step up
Creative flair and a passion for seasonal British ingredients
Skilled in kitchen leadership, budgeting, and operational control
Calm and focused under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Organised, resilient, and motivated by quality and teamwork
Working Hours & Flexibility 40 hours per week across 5 days (rota-based)
Full flexibility required including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Paid overtime in addition to salary
Accommodation Subsidised live-in accommodation available (subject to availability)
Important to Know Due to our tidal island location , live-out applicants must have a car and valid UK driving licence
You must have the right to work in the UK we are unable to offer visa sponsorship
