We are currently recruiting for a

Group Management Accountant - Tax and Payroll

to join a well establish global organisation on a remote basis. The role will be 100% remote, full time hours Monday to Friday. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Accountant with strong expertise in payroll accounting and tax compliance. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing, maintaining financial records related to employee compensation, and managing all tax-related obligations in line with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

Payroll Accounting Oversee end-to-end payroll accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts (wages, deductions, benefits, accruals) Review and validate payroll reports, journals, and postings Ensure proper accounting treatment of bonuses, commissions, pensions, and benefits Liaise with HR and payroll providers to resolve discrepancies Maintain payroll controls and ensure compliance with internal policies Tax Accounting & Compliance Prepare and file statutory tax returns (e.g., PAYE, National Insurance, VAT, corporation tax support) Ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations Manage payroll-related taxes, including employee deductions and employer contributions Assist in tax audits and respond to queries from tax authorities Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact on the business Support tax provisioning and reporting for financial statements Financial Accounting Support month-end and year-end close processes Maintain accurate financial records and documentation Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP as applicable) Controls & Compliance Strengthen internal controls around payroll and tax processes Ensure data confidentiality and compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws Support internal and external audits

Key Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Part Qualified to Qualified - Professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) 3-6+ years of experience in financial accounting Proven experience in payroll accounting and tax compliance Experience working with payroll systems and ERP software Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of payroll processes and statutory deductions Solid understanding of tax regulations and reporting requirements High attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Desirable Experience in a multinational environment Familiarity with outsourced payroll providers Knowledge of automation tools in finance This will be a temporary position initially however they is scope for the role to become permanent after a minimum period of 3 months.
