Group Financial Controller
Contract Type
12‑month Fixed‑Term Contract (FTC) maternity cover
Reporting
This role reports to the CFO
Overview Of The Job
The Group Financial Controller is the senior operational finance lead for the Group, responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and decision‑useful financial reporting, robust controls, and strong governance across Influencer’s multi‑entity, multi‑currency structure.
This is not a ‘backward‑looking’ financial control role. You will sit at the centre of the business, embedding with regional and functional leaders, ensuring they clearly understand what they own financially, how performance is tracked, and how spend translates into outcomes.
Reporting into the CFO, you will own the day‑to‑day integrity of the numbers, freeing up senior leadership to focus on growth, strategy, and transformation – while ensuring the foundations (reporting, cash, compliance, controls) are rock solid and scalable.
3 Best Things About The Job
Running a clean, fast close and delivering clear management reporting aligned to Influencer’s evolving operating model
Maintaining audit‑ready standards at all times while supporting the transition to more scalable systems, processes, and ways of working
Playing a pivotal role at a time when Influencer is scaling its ambition, its systems, and its operating model
Measures of success
Within the first 3‑6 months, you will have:
Delivered all monthly and annual reporting on time, with no quality issues.
Achieved zero revenue recognition or audit findings.
Reduced the month‑end close cycle by at least 5 days.
Embedded a reliable 13‑week cash flow used actively by leadership.
Improved forecast confidence through cleaner actuals and tighter controls.
Ensured all key controls are operating effectively and documented.
Built strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
Left the finance function stronger, calmer, and more scalable than you found it.
Roles & Responsibilities
Group Financial Reporting & Consolidation
Own and deliver the monthly group close, producing accurate and timely income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flows, and variance analysis vs budget and forecast.
Consolidate results across multiple legal entities and currencies, ensuring correct intercompany eliminations, FX treatment and translation accuracy, and consistency between management and statutory views.
Maintain and evolve the group consolidation model (currently Excel‑based), ensuring it remains robust, transparent, and scalable.
Own the month‑end timetable, driving discipline, accountability, and continuous cycle‑time reduction.
Produce high‑quality commentary that explains performance in plain English – not just what happened but why it happened and what it means.
Management Reporting & Business Partnership
Line‑manage the Commercial Finance Managers in EMEA and North America, setting clear expectations around outputs, timelines, and analytical standards, while ensuring regional insight rolls up into a single, coherent Group view of performance.
Act as functional lead for Commercial Finance across the Group, with direct responsibility for the quality, consistency, and credibility of management reporting delivered to senior leadership and the Board.
Own the end‑to‑end management reporting framework, ensuring one version of the truth across regions and functions, clear accountability for what leaders directly control, and alignment between actuals, forecast, and budget views.
Review and challenge regional management P&Ls before submission, ensuring accuracy and consistency of numbers, robust explanations of performance drivers, and clear identification of risks and opportunities.
Partner closely with the EMEA and North America Presidents, acting as a trusted financial sounding board, the final owner of their management numbers, and a bridge between regional performance and Group expectations.
Cash, Working Capital & Liquidity
Own short‑term cash visibility and control, including producing weekly rolling 13‑week cash flow and cash variance analysis vs forecast.
Identify and proactively manage working capital pinch points, timing mismatches between revenue, creators, and suppliers, and FX and intercompany cash movements.
Support the CFO with clear, reliable inputs for liquidity planning and decision‑making.
Financial Governance, Audit & Compliance
Own all statutory and regulatory reporting obligations across jurisdictions, including annual statutory accounts, Companies House filings, and local compliance requirements.
Lead the annual audit process end‑to‑end, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors.
Ensure ongoing compliance with IFRS/UK GAAP, revenue recognition standards, VAT, corporation tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing (with advisors).
Maintain a permanently audit‑ready environment, with clear documentation, reconciliations, and controls.
Revenue Recognition & Technical Accounting
Accountable for the integrity of revenue recognition across the Group, ensuring consistent application of policy, alignment between CRM, operational systems, and the GL, and zero surprises at audit.
Work closely with Commercial Finance, Operations, and Product & Technology teams to ensure clean data flows, clear handoffs at campaign kick‑off and completion, and robust treatment of complex deal structures.
Process, Controls & Ways of Working
Continuously improve financial processes to support faster closes, better insight, and reduced manual effort and risk.
Own and maintain core accounting policies, process documentation, and internal controls.
Play a key role in embedding new reporting structures, supporting system integrations and tooling adoption, and laying foundations that scale with growth.
