Group Financial Controller

Our client is a privately owned, multi-site group with turnover in the £50m£100m range, operating across three entities - each currently on separate finance systems - and actively acquiring. The business has grown quickly and is now investing seriously in the professionalisation of its finance function: stronger controls, scalable processes, and the right leadership to support the next phase. This is where you come in. The Role Reporting to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will take ownership of financial control across the group, bringing rigour, structure and confidence to a business that has the commercial momentum to match its ambitions. You'll lead a finance team of around five, plus resource at recently acquired subsidiaries, and work closely with the Board and senior leadership on everything from month end to acquisition integration. The business is also mid-way through an ERP selection process - a genuine opportunity to shape the system infrastructure from the ground up, rather than inherit someone else's decisions. The CFO is commercially sharp and sets high standards. This is agreat role for somebody who wants to be challenged and join a business through an exiting growth phase with a clear end goal. Key ResponsibilitiesFull ownership of group month-end close and multi-entity consolidationsBoard financial reporting and balance sheet ownershipOversight of stock, WIP, provisions, debtors and creditorsStatutory accounts, tax compliance and audit - lead contact for all external advisersDesign and embedding of financial controls, policies and governance frameworksCash flow management, working capital control and short-term forecastingFinancial risk, covenant monitoring and banking complianceReview and challenge of commercial finance forecasts and modelsAcquisition support: due diligence, financial control and post-deal integrationERP selection, implementation oversight and ongoing process improvementWho We're Looking ForFully qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) -practice background, ideally Top 10 or Big 4, preferredProven track record in a senior group financial control role across multiple entitiesManufacturing or operationally intensive sector experience advantageousStrong technical accounting - someone who genuinely enjoys getting into the detailConfident communicator with Board-level exposureThe kind of person who builds things properly, not just maintains themPackageSalary: £80,000 £100,000Hybrid working with regular on-site presence in LeedsFull-time, permanentThe Opportunity A well-capitalised, cash-generative business.
