We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Groundworker / Construction Operative to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of construction and civils tasks, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard while maintaining strict health and safety compliance. Location- Bowburn, North East

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to carry out various site duties as directed by the Site Manager, including:

Preparing and setting up site compounds

Installing haul roads

Installing drainage systems and sewers

Installing and maintaining over-pumping systems

Concreting foundations

Excavation works, including for structures and piling

Laying ducts and kerbs

Ensuring all work meets client expectations and quality standards

Accurately completing and submitting timesheets on time

Following company procedures, including absence reporting

You will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team, adapting to a variety of site tasks as required.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

Work safely at all times and adhere to all Health & Safety regulations

Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others

Comply with all company policies and relevant legislation

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Valid UK driving licence

Confined Space certification

Strong awareness of health and safety practices

Desirable:

Street Works qualifications

Personal Skills

Reliable, punctual, and well-organised

Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines

Clear and professional communication skills
