JobDescription: PURPOSEOFPOST: GroundsmaintenanceprovidesanessentialserviceinensuringtheCountydeliversitsaspirationsofprovidinganenvironmentwhichissafe,cleanandsustainable.Groundsmaintenanceoperatives,eitherworkingindividuallyorasateam,willmaintainpublicopenspace;verges;planting;schoolsandcontractedsitestoprovideaqualitygreenandsustainableenvironment. Themajorityofthetimetheofficerwillbeundertakinggroundsmaintenanceactivities.Howeveryouwillberequiredattimestoworkaspartofastreetservicesteam,maintaininglocalenvironmentalqualitywhichincludeslitterpicking,respondingtofly-tippingetc.Loadingofwastewillonlybeundertakeniftheoperativehasindicatedawillingnesstoparticipateintheservice(e.g.bankholidaycatch-up). Youwillberequiredto:- MaintainSafeWorkingPracticesforselfandothersinaccordancewiththeCouncilsSafeWorkingPracticesandHealthandSafetyPolicy ComplywiththerelevantlegislationinrelationtoHealthandSafety Carryoutyourroleinapoliteandorderlymanner Undertakeotherdutiescommensuratewiththegradeofpostiftherelevanttraininghasbeenprovided. Cleanandcurrentdrivinglicence(andHGVlicenceifapplicable) Undertakeanytrainingthatisrequiredtoundertakeyourrolesafelyandeffectively.
