Graduate / Assistant Transport Planner
Central Birmingham | Salary up to £34,000 + Benefits
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Graduate or Assistant Transport Planner to join a growing and well-established transport planning consultancy based in Central Birmingham.
This consultancy works on a wide range of development-led transport planning projects across the UK, supporting planning applications for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. Due to continued growth, they are looking to bring in a motivated early-career transport planner to support their expanding Midlands team.
This role would suit either a recent graduate or someone with 1-2 years' experience in transport planning who is looking to develop their career within a supportive consultancy environment.
The Role
You will support senior consultants across a range of transport planning projects and gain exposure to the full development planning process.
Typical responsibilities will include:
Assisting with Transport Assessments and Transport Statements
Supporting the preparation of Travel Plans
Assisting with traffic modelling and junction capacity assessments
Analysing transport data and preparing technical reports
Producing technical drawings and supporting planning submissions
Liaising with internal teams, clients and local authorities
Supporting wider transport planning and development projects
Candidate Requirements
Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline
Strong analytical and report writing skills
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the wider Office suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Interest in development planning and transport infrastructure
Exposure to AutoCAD, ARCADY, PICADY or LINSIG would be advantageous but not essential
