Are you a recent graduate looking to start a rewarding career in education, psychology, therapy, or childcare? Milk Education is working with a fantastic ASD-specialist primary school in Hillingdon, and we’re looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Graduate SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team. This role begins on a day-to-day, term-time basis, with genuine opportunities to progress into a long-term or permanent position.

The Role

Perfect for graduates aspiring to careers in teaching, psychology, education, mental health, or therapy, this role will give you practical experience supporting pupils with a range of ASD-related needs. You’ll work 1:1 and in small groups, follow structured learning approaches, and use visual communication tools as part of your daily practice. The work is varied, meaningful, and incredibly rewarding.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with ASD across EYFS and primary age groups
  • Using visual aids such as timetables, now/next boards, social stories, and task breakdowns
  • Delivering 1:1 and group interventions focused on communication, emotional regulation, and learning
  • Helping meet sensory needs through movement breaks, sensory tools, and tailored adjustments
  • Encouraging communication using PECS, Makaton, and visual systems
  • Assisting with pupils’ emotional wellbeing and personal care where needed
  • Working with teachers to adapt resources and maintain calm, low-arousal learning environments
  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting children through transitions
  • Following safeguarding procedures to ensure pupil safety
