Graduate Civil Engineer

About the Role
My client is seeking a motivated Graduate Civil Engineer with 2–5 years of industry experience to join the growing civil engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to build strong technical, commercial, and project delivery skills within a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure design for commercial and mixed-use developments, including drainage, highways, and external works
Surface and foul water drainage design, including SuDS solutions
Preparation of drawings, calculations, and technical reports
Use of industry-standard software (e.g. Civil 3D, MicroDrainage or similar)
Coordination with internal teams, clients, local authorities, and statutory undertakers
Supporting project delivery from concept through to construction
Assisting with commercial aspects of projects, including cost awareness, programme constraints, and risk management
Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and health & safety requirements
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
2–5 years’ experience in a civil/infrastructure engineering role
Experience working on infrastructure projects, ideally within commercial developments
Good understanding of UK design standards and regulations
Proficiency in CAD and civil engineering software
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
Working towards, or keen to work towards, professional chartership (ICE or similar)
Desirable Skills
Experience with SuDS and drainage approvals
Knowledge of highways design and external works
Familiarity with NEC contracts and commercial project delivery
Experience liaising with local authorities and statutory bodies
