and much more Join our team as Governance and Compliance Lead Were looking for an experienced and proactive Governance and Compliance Lead to shape our organisations approach to governance, risk, compliance and assurance. This is a senior leadership role that ensures we operate with integrity, transparency and in line with all statutory, legal and regulatory requirements. Youll work closely with the Board, Committees and Executive Team, providing strategic advice and assurance, and championing a culture of accountability and high standards. Key Responsibilities Lead and maintain governance frameworks, policies and internal controls, ensuring high-quality support and assurance for the Board, Committees and senior leaders. Provide strategic guidance on governance, legal, regulatory and compliance matters, and oversee Board member recruitment, induction and development. Manage regulatory compliance and engagement, including preparation for inspections, horizon scanning and maintaining a strong regulatory position with the Regulator of Social Housing. Lead strategic risk management and the internal audit programme, ensuring risks are identified, monitored and mitigated, and that audit recommendations are implemented effectively. Provide senior oversight of Legal Services and champion a culture of integrity, accountability, compliance and ethical behaviour across the organisation. Contribute to cross-organisational leadership, modelling inclusive and collaborative behaviours. What youll need to succeed Significant experience in governance, legal, compliance and risk roles within a regulated environment, ideally housing or public sector. Strong understanding of governance best practice, housing regulation, risk management and regulatory compliance, including work with the Regulator of Social Housing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels. A strategic mindset paired with a practical, hands-on approach, high levels of integrity and sound professional judgement. Strong digital capability across Microsoft 365 tools, and a commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ICSA, IRM, legal degree) and ongoing professional development are desirable. What we offer Hybrid working & flexibility
