About the Team:
The Environmental Technologies GHG section is a key part of DNV’s mission to support the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the maritime industry. Operating across Hamburg, Hövik, and Gdynia, our team is responsible for compliance services such as EU-MRV, UK-MRV, IMO-DCS, and FuelEU. As an accredited body and authorized organization, we also lead the development of services aligned with the evolving regulatory landscape, ensuring both compliance and innovation in emissions verification.
About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced GHG Product Developer to join our team of six developers. This role is ideal for someone with a background in DNV’s decarbonization services who is eager to make a tangible impact on the quality and efficiency of our product delivery.
You will play a central role in shaping new services by interpreting regulatory requirements, defining digital product needs, and enhancing verification processes through automation and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize automated verification processes, data checks, and applications.
- Monitor regulatory developments to identify service and product needs.
- Translate regulatory requirements into technical product specifications.
- Oversee DQE development and ensure alignment with Voyage Leg Verification and MRV/DCS compliance.
- Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
- Conduct testing and prepare test data from a business perspective.
- Review specifications, including calculation logic and system behavior.
- Act as the main point of contact for verification engine and plan generator tools, including bug tracking and improvement requests.
- Coordinate development work and provide clarifications to the technical team.
- Communicate with stakeholders, set priorities, and track development progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues from GHG Governance, Regulatory Affairs, Class Development, and Veracity.
- Share knowledge and updates with the production team to ensure alignment and awareness.

To maximize your chances, you need:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably with a maritime focus.
- Experience with DNV’s decarbonization services.
- Proficiency in English (C1 level).
- Solid understanding of EU regulations and IMO resolutions relevant to decarbonization.
- Strong attention to detail and a structured, solution-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Hamburg, Hövik, and Gdynia.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with technical documentation.
- Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar ticketing systems.
- Basic knowledge of programming languages.
