Gate Automation Engineer (2 Roles South UK)Locations: Reading / Surrey Borders & Sussex / KentSalary: £40,000 £45,000 + Overtime + BenefitsWe are currently recruiting for two experiencedGate Automation Engineersto join a specialist field engineering team supporting contracts across the UK.These are mobile roles covering the installation, service, maintenance, and commissioning of automated gate systems across commercial and industrial sites. One engineer will ideally be based aroundReading / Surrey, and the second withinSussex / Kent.This is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers who are confident working independently on customer sites, delivering high-quality technical work, and representing the business professionally in the field.Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation, servicing, maintenance, and commissioning of automated gate systemsElectrical and mechanical fault diagnosis and repairTesting, inspection, and commissioning of systems on siteCompletion of engineering reports, documentation, and site recordsAsset tagging and system registrationOrdering of parts and equipment where requiredLiaising with clients and site representativesEnsuring compliance with RAMS, safety procedures, and industry standardsReporting defects, incidents, and health & safety concernsParticipation in an out-of-hours call-out rotaOccasional UK travel depending on project requirementsRequirementsProven experience in gate automation or similar electro-mechanical engineering roleStrong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilityAbility to work independently and manage workload across multiple sitesStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExperience producing accurate engineering documentation and reportsCustomer-facing experience with good communication skillsWillingness to travel and occasionally stay away from homeBasic IT literacy for reporting and system usePackageSalary £40,000 £45,000 (depending on experience)Paid overtime25 days holiday plus bank holidays5% employer pension contributionCompany van and fuel card providedCall-out rota with additional earnings potentialAdditional InformationThese areprimarily regional roles within the South East, however due to the nature of country wide contracts, there may occasionally be a requirement to travel further afield to support project delivery.
