PurposeofJob:Gardener GardenerTosupportthedeliveryofplantstothehorticulturalmaintenanceservice,withintheCitysParks,Naturereserves,gardensandgreenspaces. Toensuredutiesarecarriedoutincompliancewiththerelevanthealthandsafetyproceduresinplacewithintheservice. MainDuties/Responsibilities:Gardener GardenerTosupportthedeliveryofplantstotheHorticulturalmaintenanceservicewithintheCitysParks,Naturereserves,gardensandgreenspaces,usingavarietyofpropagationandproductiontechniques. Toassisttheparksteamwithawiderangeofgardeningandcleansingdutieswhenrequired(plantingschemes,shrubpruning,litterpicking,emptyingbinsetc) Tocarryouttheday-todayproduction/maintenanceoftheplantstockincludingtheapplicationofchemicalherbicides/insecticidesanddrivingParksVehicleswhenrequired. Tomonitortheconditionofthesiteandreportproblemsusingtheinternalproceduresinplace. Toensuredutiesarecarriedoutincompliancewiththerelevanthealthandsafetyproceduresinplacewithintheservice. Tofostergoodcustomercareandpublicrelationstoengenderprideinpublicopenspace. Toworkoutdoorsinallreasonableweatherconditions. Toattendanyrelevanttrainingcoursesinstructedbymanagement. Tocarryoutanyotherreasonabledutiesallocatedbymanagement,commensuratewiththepost.
