We are currently looking to appoint a Mechanical Fitter / Fitter Assembler with experience within mechanical assembly environments. Our client is a rapidly growing engineering business specialising in the build and assembly of mechanical equipment.
Due to continued growth, they are recruiting Mechanical Fitter Assemblers for their Wakefield workshop. This is a days-based role with overtime available for those who wish to earn additional hours.
Fitter – Role and Responsibilities
Assemble mechanical equipment to engineering drawings and specifications
Carry out fitting, aligning, and adjustment of mechanical components to ensure correct operation
Work on the shop floor within the workshop environment, supporting build schedules and production targets
Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment as required
Work closely with colleagues to maintain high standards of health & safety, quality, and housekeeping
Identify and report any build or quality issues to supervisors or engineers
Follow company procedures, build instructions, and quality documentation at all times
Skills and Abilities
Previous hands-on experience in a mechanical assembly or fitting role within an engineering environment
Strong work ethic with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions
Good mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail
Comfortable following set procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines
Reliable, punctual, and committed to producing high-quality work
