Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer to join an established and respected fire protection company. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technical environment, enjoys working autonomously, and takes pride in delivering precise, compliant, and well-coordinated sprinkler system designs.\n\nAs a Sprinkler Design Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the project team, ensure accurate and timely technical submissions, and provide support and mentorship to junior designers. You will play a key part in ensuring all sprinkler system designs meet current industry standards and project requirements.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Design a variety of automatic sprinkler systems, including fire pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems\n\n * \n\n Perform hydraulic calculations using Canute and manual methods\n\n * \n\n Coordinate sprinkler layouts with the building structure, MEP services, and project constraints\n\n * \n\n Attend onsite and online client-driven design coordination meetings\n\n * \n\n Conduct site surveys to ensure designs align with actual conditions and existing services\n\n * \n\n Prepare and submit 2D drawings for approval, construction, and as-built phases\n\n * \n\n Ensure all designs comply with company design standards and BIM requirements\n\n * \n\n Provide daily support and mentorship to Trainee Designers\n\n * \n\n Assist installation teams with design-related queries and challenges\n\n * \n\n Contribute to RFIs and help prepare relevant project documentation\n\nQualifications & Requirements\n\n * \n\n Strong working knowledge of LPCB, NFPA, BSEN 9990, BSEN 9251, BSEN 12845\n\n * \n\n Minimum 5 years’ experience in the fire suppression industry\n\n * \n\n LPCB Basic, Intermediate, or FHC certification ()\n\n * \n\n High proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic design software (Canute/FHC)\n\n * \n\n Confident and clear communicator, able to present technical information effectively\n\n * \n\n Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)\n\n * \n\n Ability to manage workload independently with minimal supervision\n\n * \n\n Full UK driving licence\n\nIf you're a driven and detail-oriented Design Engineer with a passion for precision and fire safety engineering, we would love to hear from you.\n\nApply today or get in touch for a confidential discussion
