Up to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience About the Business The business operates as a close-knit, technically led team, placing strong emphasis on professional judgement, depth of knowledge, and defensible advice The consultancy is BAFE accredited Work is undertaken across complex residential, supported living, and commercial environments, with a clear focus on technical excellence rather than volume delivery Role Overview Fire Risk Assessor / Health & Safety Assessor role within the Fire Risk Consultancy division Undertaking fire risk assessments, general risk assessments, and site surveys across a varied portfolio of premises * Sites include: o Residential buildings (purpose-built blocks, conversions, HMOs) o Supported living accommodation o Commercial premises This role is suited to experienced assessors as well as those earlier in their career who are looking to progress within the fire safety and health & safety sector in a technically focused consultancy Remote and flexible working, with assessors trusted to manage workloads and deliver quality, professional outputs The role also offers the opportunity to be trained and developed, supporting progression into more complex fire safety consultancy work over time Key Responsibilities Undertake complex Fire Risk Assessments in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 Complete General Risk Assessments across residential and commercial premises Carry out site surveys and inspections to identify fire and health & safety risks Apply relevant fire safety and health & safety legislation, British Standards, and sector guidance Produce clear, well-structured fire risk assessment and general risk assessment reports Provide proportionate and practical safety advice Communicate professionally with clients and duty holders Essential Requirements A recognised Fire Risk Assessment and/or Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Fire Certificate, NEBOSH General Certificate, or Level 3 FRA qualification) Experience in undertaking fire risk assessments and general risk assessments Foundational knowledge of fire safety principles and health & safety risk assessment methodology Strong written English and technical report-writing ability Full UK driving licence Technical Environment and Development Opportunity to work alongside three experienced fire risk consultants with over 50 years of combined experience Consultancy environment that actively encourages technical discussion, mentoring, and peer review Those earlier in their career will be supported through a full and comprehensive training programme, including mentoring, structured technical development, peer review, and full CPD support A key development opportunity within this role is training and progression into more complex fire safety consultancy work over time.
