Financial Controller Location: Hull

An established and growing manufacturing business is seeking a new Financial Controller to lead its finance function and play a key role within the senior management team.  The role could be well suited to a range of candidates from experienced FC's through to strong Finance Managers ready for their next career step.    This is a hands on leadership position responsible for overseeing financial operations, delivering accurate reporting, and partnering with operational teams to drive performance and efficiency across the business. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the finance team, including credit control, management accounting, and purchase ledger
  • \n\t
  • Produce and present monthly management accounts, including balance sheet and profit & loss
  • \n\t
  • Deliver timely and accurate reporting to Group in line with deadlines
  • \n\t
  • Provide meaningful KPIs and financial insights to support operational decision-making
  • \n\t
  • Partner with senior management to improve cost efficiency and business performance
  • \n\t
  • Oversee stock control processes and stock takes
  • \n\t
  • Manage statutory reporting requirements, including VAT and CIS returns
  • \n\t
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing monthly forecasting
  • \n\t
  • Manage cash flow, including debtor and creditor performance
  • \n\t
  • Oversee audit processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • \n\t
  • Develop detailed costing models and profitability analysis for projects and products
  • \n\t
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including cost and efficiency analysis
  • \n\t
  • About You:
  • \n\t
  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • \n\t
  • Proven experience managing / leading a finance function or mentoring small teams 
  • \n\t
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence operational decision-making
  • \n\t
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to engage beyond the finance office
  • \n\t
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the business
  • \n\t
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • \n\t
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage competing deadlines
  • \n\t
