Job Title: Finance Director

Location: England, UK (Hybrid Working)

About the Company

A rapidly growing international company in the renewable energy sector is seeking a commercially-minded Finance Director to join its UK leadership team. The business specialises in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects and operates across multiple international markets, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence. With a current UK turnover approaching £100 million, the organisation is poised for significant further growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all financial and commercial functions for the UK business

Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting in line with UK GAAP, with future transition to IFRS

Align local reporting with global standards and group consolidation requirements

Oversee project controlling and variance analysis to ensure financial discipline across operations

Manage intercompany processes, including transfer pricing and tax compliance

Implement robust KPI tracking and performance management systems

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and liquidity planning processes

Guide ERP and reporting tool optimisation (including systems like AP+ and eGecko)

Coordinate audits, ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, and manage risk and insurance matters

Build and lead a local team spanning finance, HR, and administration

Promote a high-performance, solution-oriented team culture

Act as the bridge between UK operations and the Group Finance team

Skills & Experience Required

Degree in Finance, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

5-8+ years in a senior finance or commercial leadership role, preferably within international businesses

Strong knowledge of UK GAAP; CPA or equivalent qualification is an advantage

Experience in project-based sectors such as construction, infrastructure, or energy

Skilled in project controlling, financial systems, and advanced Excel

Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership style and strong problem-solving skills

Confident communicator, able to operate effectively in matrixed and multicultural environments

Fluent in English; additional languages, especially German, are a bonus

Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and abroad
