Are you a Field Service Engineer looking to upgrade your career into a regional role which includes the Midlands, South, with some European travel? Due to our rapid expansion, an opportunity has arisen for a Technical Service Engineer / Scientific Support Engineer, to manage our state-of-the-art robotics solutions within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets. \n \nBASIC SALARY: £52,000 - £56,000 \n \nBENEFITS: \n· Monthly £150 On-Call Allowance + £120 for additional call out \n· Company Pension Scheme (minimum employee contribution of 4%, Company will pay 5% and match up to 8%) \n· Performance Bonus \n· 25 Days Annual Holiday (Plus Statutory Days) \n· Group Income Protection Scheme \n· Private Healthcare including Optical & Dental \n· Life Assurance etc.
\n \nLOCATION: Midlands and Southern England \n \nCOMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Birmingham, Coventry, Slough, Luton, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Cambridge, Rugby, Hertford, Windsor, Reading, Solihull, Peterborough - or anywhere in between. \n \nJOB DESCRIPTION: Technical Service Engineer, Technical Support Engineer - Robotics, Automation, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Medical, Biotechnology \n \nYou will be our main Field Service Engineer for the Midlands and the South. \n \nThis job consists of regularly spending time away, both in the UK and occasionally in Europe for a whole week at a time (up to 40-50% of time spent away in hotels).
\n \nWe will train you extensively from Day 1, on our products, systems, IT, procedures, applications, and customers. This is an on-site role, immersing yourself with key customers, their visions, needs and aspirations. \n \nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Service Engineer, Technical Support Engineer - Robotics, Automation, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Medical, Biotechnology \n \nAs our Technical Service Engineer, you will: \n· Become the service subject Matter Expert for our customers.
\n· Perform remote support and diagnostics. \n· Manage the escalation flow to ensure timely customer follow-up until issue is resolved. \n· Ensure Preventative Maintenance Procedures, intervals, and schedules are correct and complete.
\n· Identify / forecast spare parts requirements \n· Utilise D365 Service Reports, RMAs & monthly KPI reports. \n· Handle all service calls timely and professionally. \n· Communicate with customer, R&D, Customer Service, Product Management, Manufacturing and Sales, ensuring superior customer satisfaction.
\n· Provide 24/7 remote and on-site service on a rotating model. \n \nPERSON SPECIFICATION: Technical Service Engineer, Technical Support Engineer - Robotics, Automation, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Medical, Biotechnology \n \nYou will have: \n· Technical background (electrical, mechanical, IT), within complex machinery, in an industry such as: Heavy Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Equipment, Mining, Automation, Robotics, Shipbuilding, Marine, Drilling, Biotechnology (or similar). \n· Either a technical Degree, HNC, HND, or time-served professional experience equivalent.
\n· Strong customer-centric / customer-facing pedigree. \n· Creative problem-solving mindset, driven by the motivation to assist customers, sales & service personnel, to overcome obstacles and challenges. \n· Experience of Microsoft 365 or equivalent, Active directory, and SQL databases (we provide relevant training).
\n· Experience of IP addressing, Remote Desktop Protocols, & Driver Support. \n· Knowledge of Beckhoff Twin CAT, Elmo Studio, Vision Systems, and Barcode Reading. \n· Capability of working reliably / resiliently.
