A well-established and growing engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join its service team, supporting customers across the Midlands.
This is a field-based role where you will be responsible for conducting site works and servicing activities safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed schedules, quality standards, and health & safety requirements.
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will:
Deliver planned site works and servicing activities to meet customer requirements.
Working with lifts, pallets, conveyors, elevators
Prepare and submit RAMS for approval prior to attending site.
Complete works safely and efficiently, adhering to all health & safety standards.
Produce accurate and timely site reports following each job.
Maintain company equipment including PPE, tools, and vehicle.
Support and assist other engineers where required.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in service delivery.
Report near misses, incidents, or safety concerns promptly.
Assist with training and mentoring of colleagues when required.
You will work closely with management, maintaining clear communication around job schedules, site requirements, and overtime approvals.
About You
You will ideally have:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an engineering or field service environment
Experience within the materials handling industry.
Strong understanding of quality standards (ISO 9001 preferred)
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
A proactive, organised, and safety-focused approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Qualifications & Certifications
GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths & English (Grade C / 4 or above)
UK Driving Licence
IPAF, RTITB & CSCS (or willingness to obtain)
First Aid trained
Competent with Microsoft Office 365
ERP system experience (SAP preferred)
DBS check (or willingness to undertake one)

Depending on the job, could have to stay away. A lot of the time they are getting home same day, as most customers are based in that area.

Additional Information
While primarily a field-based role, there may be occasional involvement in customer or supplier visits for training, investigations, or improvement projects
