Field Service Engineer YorkshireLocation: Yorkshire with occasional UK travelAre you an experienced service engineer looking for a role where your technical expertise has real impact across a diverse regional portfolio?Clarke Energy is recruiting a Field Service Engineer to support customers across Yorkshire, ensuring the reliability, efficiency and performance of gas engines and associated plant equipment. This is a hands-on role offering variety, autonomy, and the backing of a globally recognised energy business.About the RoleYoull be responsible for keeping customer sites across Yorkshire operating safely and efficiently through high-quality maintenance, fault finding and corrective works. You will deliver scheduled servicing, respond to breakdowns when required, and work proactively to minimise downtime and unnecessary cost.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & TroubleshootingCarry out planned and preventative maintenance to maximise engine availability and reliabilityRespond to out-of-hours callouts, diagnose faults, and restore plant performance efficientlyCollect, label and dispatch oil samples in accordance with agreed proceduresSelect, order and manage parts effectively, returning unused items to minimise wasteMaintain accurate van stock and report shortages to the Area ManagerCustomer & Team SupportBuild strong, professional relationships with customers across YorkshireCommunicate clearly with the Area Manager, customers and subcontractors to ensure smooth site operationsComplete service documentation accurately and within agreed timescalesTools & EquipmentMaintain company tools and equipment to a high standard, ensuring cleanliness and calibrationUphold excellent site presentation, housekeeping and professionalismSupervision & TrainingSupport apprentices and new starters through mentoring and on-the-job guidanceHealth, Safety & EnvironmentWork in full compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirementsWhat Were Looking ForTechnical SkillsStrong engineering background with experience working on gas engines and associated systemsElectrical and mechanical engineering capabilityGas Safe registeredConfident IT skills to support reporting and documentationAbility and willingness to coach and support othersPersonal AttributesProfessional, reliable and safety-focusedFlexible and adaptable to changing priorities and locationsCustomer-focused with strong communication skillsOrganised, proactive and able to manage workload independentlyResilient under pressure and committed to continuous improvementQualifications & ExperienceEssentialMinimum of 5 years' service engineering experienceNVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Electrical or Mechanical EngineeringApprentice-trained engineerFull UK driving licenceWillingness to travel across Yorkshire, work unsociable hours, and stay away from home when requiredDesirableExperience working on gas enginesKnowledge of CHP or power generation environmentsGas Safe registrationWhats in it for you?Competitive hourly rate with overtime basic ratePaid daily travel time (up to 30 minutes each way)On-call rota participation with call-out fee25 days annual leave plus 8 Bank HolidaysHoliday buy and sell scheme (up to 5 additional days)7% company pension contributionCompany van providedComprehensive training programme on Jenbacher engines and systems at our Liverpool Training CentreIf youre a skilled and motivated engineer seeking a varied and rewarding regional role, wed love to hear from you.JBRP1_UKTJ
