We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a well-established engineering organisation specialising in specialist vehicles and equipment used in municipal services, infrastructure maintenance, aviation support, and environmental operations. This is a customer-facing, hands-on role where you will carry out service, maintenance, and repair work on a diverse range of high-value equipment in the field. You will play a key part in delivering an excellent service experience to customers while working independently and as part of a wider service team. As our Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for: Carrying out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on specialist equipment including compact and truck-mounted road sweepers, spreaders, airport support equipment, and mowing machinery. Delivering a high-quality, professional service to customers, maintaining strong working relationships. Completing warranty repairs and ensure all associated paperwork is accurate and submitted on time. Accurately completing job sheets, additional work authorisations, parts requests, and warranty documentation. Coordinating daily activities with the Service Desk, reporting movements to maximise efficiency. Ordering parts promptly and accurately via the Service Desk. Carrying out courtesy visits to customers when required. Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota. Promoting products, parts, and services to both existing and potential customers. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a background in Field Service Engineering or a related discipline such as: Heavy Plant Engineering LGV or Automotive Engineering Agricultural or Materials Handling Equipment Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of: Internal combustion engines Hydraulic systems Auto-electrical systems You should also have: Experience repairing and maintaining high-value capital equipment. Ability to work independently, manage workload, and meet deadlines. A customer-focused mindset with excellent communication skills. Willingness to travel extensively in the UK and occasionally overseas. Clean UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous). Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
