Job Overview: As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and repair services on machinery. You will ensure customer satisfaction through timely and efficient service, troubleshooting, and technical advice, ensuring all work complies with company standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site and workshop repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on equipment. Install, commission, and test new machinery at customer sites. Provide technical support and advice to customers and colleagues. Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance. Complete all service reports, inspections, and documentation accurately and promptly. Adhere to health and safety regulations and promote safe working practices. Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment. Support the training of customers and internal staff on equipment operation and maintenance. Identify potential areas for service improvement and communicate feedback.
Qualifications & Experience:
Proven experience as a Service Engineer or similar role, preferably in Material Handling or Construction Equipment. Technical qualification in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant field (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND). Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required. Good problem-solving skills and technical aptitude. Strong communication skills and customer-focused approach.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical knowledge of machinery or similar equipment. Ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults efficiently. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to health and safety regulations. Willingness to undertake ongoing training and development.
Working Conditions:
Field-based, involving travel to customer sites. Workshop-based work as needed. Flexible hours to meet customer requirements.
