The Opportunity:
Join Hitachi Energy as a GIS Field Service Engineer/Site Manager, where you'll lead the charge on construction sites, overseeing the installation, modification, and repair of high voltage ( 69kV through 800kV) equipment. - Lead technical field assignments and make critical decisions.
- Direct the work of field teams and subcontractors.
- Manage productivity to ensure timely project completion.
- Ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Promote safe practices and meet health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Supervise the installation and commissioning of high voltage GIS substations.
- Conduct frequent inspections and document pertinent information.
- Plan, schedule, and lead on-site weekly progress meetings.
- Perform and document field testing on equipment.

- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes.
- Trade education and experience in Industrial Mechanic and Electrical trades.
- College or university diploma/degree in a technical field (electrical or mechanical engineering).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in service or construction management, preferably with high voltage equipment.
- Hands-on experience in substation construction, servicing, and commissioning.
- Knowledge of electrical testing and high voltage equipment.
- Proven leadership experience in coordinating and leading crews.
- Ability to read and interpret complex documents and construction drawings.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and MS Project.
- Physical ability to work on-site, including climbing and lifting.
- Valid US driver's license and work authorization.
- Ability to travel extensively (80%), including occasional trips to Canada and Mexico.
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
- OSHA 10 training completion certificate or ability to acquire.
