Key Worker / Teaching Assistant
to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 9 pupil
with diagnosed
ADD and ADHD
within our Alternative Provision setting. This role is perfect for someone calm, proactive and dedicated to helping students re-engage with learning in a safe, structured and supportive environment. As a Key Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, emotional and behavioural development of a young person on a personalised timetable. Student Support & Planning Design, deliver and review
pupil support plans
, ensuring they reflect daily support needs and identified targets. Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions
, offering mentoring, guidance and practical help based on pupil needs. Establish baseline data (attendance, attainment, predicted grades) and monitor progress using agreed performance indicators. Collaboration & Multi-Agency Work Work closely with teaching staff to ensure continuity of delivery and consistency in both educational and social learning. Attend and participate in multi-disciplinary meetings including PEPs, core groups, planning sessions and reviews. Regularly risk-assess the young person, identifying vulnerabilities and risks relating to attendance, behaviour, or personal safety. Record all safeguarding concerns accurately and in line with policy on the same day. Support behaviour management, ensuring all behaviours are responded to fairly, consistently and in line with the behaviour policy. Be willing to work across varied settings including school, college, community locations, and occasionally environments such as court, police stations or young offender institutions. Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and residential trips as required. Experienced working with young people who display challenging behaviour or have complex needs (desirable).
