Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer ~ Defence Industry ~ 6 Month Contract Nicholas Howard are delighted to be recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading Global Aerospace and Defence client, based in Bedfordshire. Experience of working within the defence industry working with Armoured Fighting Vehicles and associated systems (Survivability, Lethality, Structures, Communications, Sights and Sensors) is considered essential for this role. Must have in depth knowledge of CREO CAD and Windchill software and will ideally have experience of design in the Aerospace industry and/or military applications. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for carrying out the duties of the Engineering department, including design, prototyping, design proving, engineering documentation, and supporting calculations. This role demands a high level of innovative thinking and the ability to synthesise ideas into functioning and manufacturable products that are compliant to design specifications and applicable legislation. Working within a team of engineers and Design Authorities to design and develop high integrity components, complex mechanisms and linkages that will function and be durable in challenging military environments.
