Main Purpose of the Job: To oversee the day-to-day operations of a prestigious Central London venue, delivering exceptional catering, hospitality, and events services to the highest standards. The role includes managing private dining, corporate hospitality, weddings, and a diverse portfolio of events, ranging from boardroom meetings to large-scale events. The Venue Events Manager is responsible for ensuring seamless operational delivery, outstanding attention to detail, and consistently high service standards across all areas of the venue. A key aspect of the role is overseeing all venue operations while also building and maintaining strong, professional relationships with clients and partners to deliver a first-class, tailored guest experience in a premium Central London setting. Key Result Areas: Premium Food & Beverage Service: - Ensure exceptional service delivery across private dining, weddings, corporate hospitality, and a wide range of high-end events. - Uphold and implement best practices in premium and fine-dining service, ensuring a seamless and refined guest experience. - Work closely with the Head Chef and culinary team to curate seasonal, high-quality menus that reflect the venues standards and identity. - Deliver thorough pre-service briefings to ensure the team has full understanding of menus, service style, guest expectations, and event requirements. - Maintain strong knowledge of wine, beverage service, and premium food presentation to support an elevated hospitality offering. Events Management: - Oversee and execute a wide range of high-profile events, including weddings, private celebrations, corporate receptions, boardroom meetings, and large-scale events, ensuring flawless delivery. - Liaise closely with clients to design and deliver bespoke experiences aligned with the venues prestige and standards. - Manage all event logistics, operational planning, and staff coordination to ensure smooth, consistent, and professional delivery. - Conduct post-event reviews to support continuous improvement and maintain exceptional service standards. Client Relations & Service Excellence: - Enhance the guest experience through a culture of attentiveness, discretion, and proactive service. - Oversee all venue operations while ensuring the team consistently delivers high levels of professionalism and care. - Train and develop the team in premium hospitality standards, ensuring alignment with the venues expectations and service culture. - Implement feedback mechanisms to continually improve service quality and guest satisfaction. - Maintain high standards of personal presentation across the team, reflecting the venues premium positioning. Hygiene, Health, and Safety Compliance: - Ensure all staff adhere to the highest hygiene and health standards in line with luxury hospitality expectations. - Oversee food safety management systems and ensure full compliance with EHO and health regulations. - Conduct regular checks of back of house areas and event spaces to maintain exceptional cleanliness and operational standards. - Ensure strict compliance with COSHH regulations and staff grooming standards. People Management & Development: - Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team focused on premium service delivery. - Deliver training programmes focused on luxury hospitality, refined service techniques, and guest engagement. - Conduct regular performance reviews and development plans to retain and grow talent. - Foster a motivated, detail-driven team culture centred on excellence and professionalism. Financial & Operational Performance: - Manage budgets effectively, ensuring control of food costs, labour, and operational expenditure. - Implement cost-efficient practices without compromising service quality. - Monitor financial performance and report regularly to senior management. - Identify and drive operational improvements to enhance efficiency and guest experience. Team Effectiveness & Leadership: - Lead and support the team to consistently exceed service expectations across all events. - Maintain clear communication of operational goals and performance standards. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to elevate service delivery. - Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and guest-focused service. Site Operations & Building Management - Take responsibility for the day-to-day presentation, condition, and operational readiness of the venue. - Oversee routine and reactive maintenance, ensuring timely resolution of issues with minimal disruption to operations. - Coordinate with approved contractors and suppliers to ensure all works are completed safely and to required standards. - Ensure statutory checks, compliance, and safety systems are maintained and accurately recorded. - Work closely with senior management to plan preventative maintenance and long-term venue care. - Ensure all site security procedures, including alarm setting and building lock-up, are followed correctly. Key Performance Indicators: - Achievement of financial targets and budget goals. - Customer satisfaction consistently exceeding 90%. - Strong staff retention and engagement levels. - High levels of positive client feedback and repeat business. - Full compliance with all hygiene, safety, and audit standards.
