Murray Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator on behalf of our client, a reputable and expanding company within the fit-out and construction sector.

Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and commercially astute professional to join a dynamic pre-construction team, playing a key role in pricing projects and managing tender submissions. The successful candidate will have strong experience in estimating from first principles and a solid understanding of construction and fit-out project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects from first principles, including labour, materials, and subcontractor costs Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive tenders Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain up-to-date quotations and negotiate competitive pricing Work closely with the commercial, design, and project delivery teams to ensure consistent and competitive tender submissions Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings when required Identify value engineering opportunities and propose cost-effective alternatives Support bid management and contribute to the preparation of bid documentation and presentations Maintain and update cost databases and estimating systems

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in an Estimator role within the fit-out, construction, or refurbishment sectors Strong ability to estimate from first principles with high accuracy Familiar with tender processes and documentation Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (e.g. ConQuest, Causeway, or similar) Strong communication skills and ability xkybehq to work collaboratively across teams Organised and capable of managing multiple tenders simultaneously HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline is desirable
