One of my local authority clients in the East of England are currently on the search for an Environmental Protection Officer.

* Role: Environmental Protection Officer

* Rate: negotiable

* Start date: ASAP

* Working pattern: 2/3 days on site

* 37hrs

* Contract Length: 6 months

Role duties:

* Strong understanding of relevant legislation in Environmental Protection

* Ability to manage complex case work independently

* Responsible for undertaking a varied caseload of Environmental Protection work

* Dealing with investigations of statutory nuisance complaints, eg smoke odour and other environmental impacts

* Carry out inspections, liaise with businesses, residents and take appropriate enforcement actions
