Salary: £35,162 – £50,011 (pending evaluation) per year. Full-time, 37 hours per week. Permanent contract. Location: Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, Kent TN13 1HG.

We are seeking an environmental health specialist with experience of commenting on planning applications from a public health perspective. You will work with our Planning department at all stages of the planning process, providing advice and guidance on the environmental and public health impact of applications and proposed developments, and help provide evidence and expert witness evidence for appeals, hearings and public inquiries.

You will also assist with the development of policies and initiatives regarding environmental protection issues. Your detail‑focused approach will ensure that all records and databases are accurate and available to support decisions.

This is a new role and may offer the opportunity to work in the wider field of environmental health with specialist training where necessary.

The role is 37 hours per week and will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 1HG.

We currently operate a hybrid‑working model for the majority of our roles; your working time will be divided between the office and home working.
