Title: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Location: West Yorkshire

Working Pattern: 4-day week, with flexibility and occasional Friday presence as needed

The opportunity:

A well-established UK manufacturing business is appointing an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead site EHS performance, strengthen compliance and support a robust safety culture across a busy industrial operation.

This is a hands-on, site-focused role reporting directly into senior operations leadership.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and maintain site EHS management systems, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Own the internal audit schedule, support external audits and drive corrective actions.
• Manage risk assessments (including COSHH/ PUWER where relevant), controls and continuous improvement.
• Lead accident/ near miss investigations and implement preventative measures.
• Ensure strong contractor controls (RAMS, compliance checks, site rules).
• Deliver practical site engagement, including inductions, toolbox talks and training support.
• Coordinate with external specialists where required (for example for risk assessment support).
• Infrequent travel to smaller sites (minimal, occasional).

What we’re looking for:

• Strong EHS/HSE/SHE experience within manufacturing / engineering / industrial environments (heavy manufacturing, steel, fasteners, automotive components etc. welcomed).
• Confident in auditing (internal audits essential; Lead Auditor desirable but not required).
• Solid working knowledge of UK H&S and environmental legislation.
• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
• Someone who can commute to work 4 days a week.
