Job Role: Functional Skills English Tutor Location: HMYOI Werrington Salary: From £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience, skills & qualifications) Contract: Full‑Time, Permanent Working Environment: Prison‑based role with full on‑site delivery
Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and passionate Functional Skills English Tutor to deliver high‑quality English programmes to learners at HMYOI Werrington . Working with small groups of young learners, you will support the development of essential English skills, helping learners build confidence, improve literacy, and progress towards recognised qualifications. Your teaching will play a vital role in supporting rehabilitation, personal development and future employability. You will design structured sessions, provide ongoing advice and guidance, and ensure that all teaching meets quality, safeguarding and compliance expectations.
