English Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary English Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the Bury area. Key Stages: KS3 & KS4

Start Date: January 2026 (earlier start available)

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary or Temp-to-Perm

Working Hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm

Pay: £168.00 - £233.00 per day (Paid to Scale - PTS)

Role Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4 Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment Support students of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs Work collaboratively with the English department and wider school staff Contribute to departmental planning, enrichment activities, and wider school life

Experience, Training & Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school (ECTs encouraged to apply) Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English Up-to-date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete this)
